As a successful businessman, Peter Brown has the experience

Houston needs in our next mayor. Peter built his own small business into a successful national architectural and urban planning firm. He knows how to make a business thrive, and he knows how to get results. This is his Blueprint for an Even Better Houston; a strategy that will attract new jobs, protect our neighborhoods, enrich our communities, and take better care of our resources. Peter's Blueprint offers real solutions and real ideas for combatting traffic, crime, flooding and  other challenges. Explore the blueprint below.

Economy

To grow our economy and bring new jobs and businesses to Houston, Peter Brown will create an Office of Economic Development and Job Creation, coordinating economic development efforts. He’ll protect small businesses, and target growth and job creation in key industrial sectors based on Houston’s strengths.

Public Safety

The Mayor's first responsibility is to keep our city and our neighborhoods safe. Peter Brown will take a tougher, smarter approach to fighting crime, using decentralized, neighborhood-oriented policing with officers back on the beat, and proven crime prevention programs that get results. And he’ll empower officers with new technology and the best crime-fighting tactics.

Transportation

Peter Brown will build on Mayor Bill White's progress by connecting and timing traffic lights remotely to make them more responsive to traffic problems, improving streets to reduce traffic congestion, and expanding transportation choices.

Flooding

Peter Brown has a blueprint to reduce flooding that calls for smart investments in effective projects to expand and better-maintain drainage systems, better regional coordination, and a proactive approach to prevent future flooding.
