Peter Brown Announces Additional Endorsements Including Law Enforcement

Houston, TX – The Peter Brown for Mayor campaign today announced additional endorsements, including the Mexican American Sheriff’s Organization, Houston Education Support Personnel and Richmond Rail PAC. Peter Brown’s campaign has received a number of significant endorsements over the past week, as support continues to build behind his message of an even better Houston.

"We support Peter Brown's goals, beliefs, and his blueprint to make our great city even better,” said MASO spokesman Luis Figueroa. “We have confidence in his ability to keep Houstonians safe and find real solutions to reduce crime in Houston.

 
Statement from Peter Brown on Efforts To Reduce Air Pollution

Houston City Council Member and Candidate for Mayor Peter Brown released the following statement, supporting Mayor Bill White’s new agreement with the Harris County Attorney’s office to better police illegal air polluters:

“I support this new partnership, and as Mayor I will continue to work with the county to protect the quality of air in our city and the health and well-being of our children and families. Air pollution and air quality affect all of us, and we need to continue the progress Mayor White has made to clean up the air in our city. This partnership is a step in the right direction, and I will continue to support efforts to expand our cooperation with involved agencies, as well as to shape new partnerships with other local parties – including the Port of Houston and the Houston Galveston Area Council – to better protect our residents."

 

Peter Brown for Mayor Campaign Continues to Build Momentum

Houston, TX - Independent polling released last night shows Peter Brown building strong momentum heading into the November general election next week. News of the poll followed major endorsements recently received by the Peter Brown for Mayor campaign – including the Transport Workers Union Local 260 and Brown’s fellow City Council member Jarvis Johnson, who represents City Council District B.

“Council Member Brown shares our goal of providing the riding public with safe and efficient transportation,” said Local 260 President David Gollinger. “He recognizes that the Transit Authority needs a new direction.”

 

Peter Brown Campaign Releases New Radio Ad, Community Leaders Respond to Locke Attack Ad

In response to Locke’s attack on Peter Brown several community leaders have responded, outraged at the Locke campaign’s false assertions. The Peter Brown for Mayor campaign also today unveiled a new radio ad, "That's Why," featuring Bishop James Dixon. In "That's Why," Bishop Dixon challenges Locke's ad and touts Peter Brown's proven record of results for the community. The ad will begin airing on radio stations on Saturday.
